Mission:
Jesus gave us the Great
Commission saying: "Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the
end of the age." (Mt 28:19-20)
Mission is the very heartbeat of
God:
"For God so loved the
world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send
the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world
might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not
condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because
they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God." (Jn 3:16-18)
But as St Paul reminds us....
"Everyone who calls on
the name of the Lord shall be saved."
But how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how
are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And
how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? And how are
they to proclaim him unless they are sent? As it is written, "How
beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
But not all have obeyed the good news; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has
believed our message?"
So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the
word of Christ. (Rom 10:13-17)
The challenge for each and
every Christian is: "What is God calling you to in mission and ministry,
through His Word, by the power of His Holy Spirit?"

The stained glass window in
the KAC chapel bears the
outline of the San Damiano cross that spoke so powerfully to St Francis of Assisi. It stands in a stylised Australian
landscape and a river (the river of life) runs from the foot of the
cross into the Aussie landscape.
St Francis was a wonderful character
and Saint
He was connected strongly to the
spirit of his age
He was connected strongly to God's
creation and all God's creatures.
He was connected strongly to the poor
and disadvantaged
His call was for peace and his heart
was for unity
He had a heart for the lost
His (paraphrased) instruction to his students "Go
into the world and preach the Gospel, and if you must, use words."
All of this is very
evocative of Mission and the great commission. |

Overseas Missions Support:
*Thailand - Until 2006 KAC wholly supported our own missionary
in Thailand who was working among those affected by HIV/AIDS.
As a result
KAC still has
connections to ministries in northern Thailand at Chiang Rai.
*Frank Smith - Chiang
Rai. Frank ministers in the Mae Chan Hospital to those with HIV/AIDS, and
assists a ministry that supports, houses and feeds Burmese street-kids
further north at the border town of Mae Sai.
*Rahab
Ministries
in Bangkok - Thailand - for many years KAC has supported
this ministry in the red-light area of Patpong.
The ministry uses
friendship evangelism to reach out to the bar-girls and prostitutes with
the love of Jesus. At a practical level it offers alternative
income-making opportunities for the girls in hairdressing/make-up
courses and handicrafts.
*Patricia Green -
Berlin.
One-time Director of
Rahab Ministry, Bangkok, Patricia now works in Berlin on behalf of the
thousands of young women and children who are trafficked across national
borders for the purposes of prostitution.
*Ps. Sadhu Sundar SINGH - Love and Compassion Ministries.
On the eastern seaboard of India. Ps Singh works with local pastors
proclaiming and demonstrating in practical ways the love of the risen
Christ to some of the poorest of the poor villages around Dundagam.
* Rev.Dr. David
Seccombe and family - George Whitefield College - South Africa.
KAC continues to give prayer support to the college and
its Aussie-born Principal, . The college is training a new generation of
bible-believing evangelists, pastors and teachers for the church of
South Africa. Years ago KAC supported
the college's first-ever black student through his studies for
ordination.

that Rev. Derek and Denise have led, these important ministries in the
Holy Land are supported in prayer.
